This weekend my daughter was the first student from 4J to be able to bring home their new class member, General Iceburg, who is visiting from Greys Creek Middle School, U.S.A.
It was very warm today as we all know, so we thought we’d better go down to Drouin, to my mums place for a swim. Nana Joy and Poppy Doug live 5km out of Drouin on a beef farm. On our way home we stopped and visited the old Steam Engine in the park at Yarragon, went and had a quick play at Apex Park in Moe, then because of the fires, drive the back way home to Traralgon, via Yallourn North and Tyers. We went up to the lookout at the top of Tyers to have a look at the Valley in which we live. Its very hazy today due to the smoke in the air. But we got photos of the Paper Mill where Mr Joyce works, the Power Station and Traralgon. We came home late, did some shopping and then it was KFC for dinner. I think we are all a bit tired now. So dvd-The Croods, then bed for us all 🙂
It was hot…43C!!
Off to visit Nana Joy. Everyone is buckled in..
In the pool..need floaties on first..
The General met Nans Cocky
And rode in the back of Poppys ute.
He met some of Poppys cattle.
Nan loves flying her Aussie flag.
More cattle under the beautiful Gum trees.
The General met Nans dog, Jade, who is a Bermese Mountain Dog. She is gorgeous, but naughty!
In Yarragon visiting the Steam Train. Is used to travel on our railline from Melbourne a very long time ago.
Off to Apex Park, Moe.
We then headed home the back way, stopping quickly at the power station-W-station in Yallourn.
The view from the look at up the top of Tyers.
Traralgon and Loy Yang Power Station in the hazy background.
The paper mill is down there somewhere through the haze. Mr Joyce works there.
Then back to Traralgon and grocery shopping in the plaza. He sat up like such a good polar bear and didnt touch our items 🙂
Alex loved being in charge of pushing him in the trolley down to the escalator to the car.
Then finally home for some yummy KFC. What a big day we had today in the heat.
