  1. Federation is about when all of the collenies or states came together because a lot of people wanted to become one nation. Each collenie/state sent out a special person out to a big meeting. The people fought a lot. Untill they all finally agreed. Australia became one big nation. Later that year all of the states came together for more arguing about where they were going to place their parliament. Wa decided to stay out of it. Eventully they choose a place in NSW. The Federation is about when Australia became one Nation.

  2. There were 6 British self governing colonies. They had their own government. They had nothing to do with any other of the governments. The 6 colonies were Queensland, N.S.W., Victoria, Tasmania, W.A and S.A. They all formed one nation. They kept the system of government that they had as separate colonies, but then agreed to have a federal government. This means that they are in-control of what the whole nation does. So when the constitution of Australia was created, on the first of January 1901, the colonies became states of the commonwealth of Australia.

  4. The Australian Federation is when the 6 states and 2 territories of Australia come together as a whole nation under the ruler ship of our mother country, England. On January 1st, 1901, all of the colonies (that were present then); New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania came together and became the Commonwealth of Australia. Western Australia was existing then, but decided not to join in at first. Later Western Australia was included. During the 1800’s , each state would send representatives to big meetings called conventions to discuss how to make a federation. It is now called:
    ‘The Parliament.’

  6. I think federation means where where states and territories come together and because one nation. I think that it means where they argue and argue until finally they all agreed on becoming a nation. Tasmania,Queensland,Victoria, WA,SA and NT finally had an agreement.

  7. I think Federation is about when all the states and territories came together as one in Australia and made a parliament to bring this nation to be come one . The parliament gives every state and territory there own say then that’s when everyone votes to have there say and become one nation.
